Why go now

Rajasthan in May is 45 °C and genuinely dangerous to sightsee in. From mid-October the daytime settles into the high twenties, the nights turn cool enough for a desert camp to be pleasant rather than survivable, and the state's best fortnight of the year arrives: Diwali in the old cities, then the Pushkar camel fair in early November. Fort courtyards, stepwells and desert drives all become comfortable in the same three weeks.

What a typical package covers

  • Return flights or train from your departure city
  • Hotels or homestays on twin sharing, hand-picked rather than allocated
  • Daily breakfast, and dinner where the location has no reasonable alternative
  • A dedicated vehicle with driver for the whole itinerary
  • All permits, entry formalities and inter-city transfers
  • A named coordinator on WhatsApp for the length of the trip

Not included

  • Lunches, and any meal not named in the itinerary
  • Monument and activity tickets unless stated on your quote
  • Anything personal — laundry, tips, phone, medical

Know before you go

  • 1Diwali week fills every heritage hotel in the state months ahead and prices roughly double. Book that window early or pick the fortnight after.
  • 2Distances are longer than the map suggests. Jaipur to Jaisalmer is a full travel day; we use overnight trains where they beat the road.
  • 3Fort and palace entry is extra almost everywhere and adds up across a six-city route. Our quotes state clearly whether monument tickets are in or out.

Questions

Rajasthan — Frequently asked

If yours is not here, call or WhatsApp us — the desk answers, not a bot.

Three, unless you have nine days or more. Jaipur, Jodhpur and Udaipur in six nights is a good trip. Adding Jaisalmer and Pushkar to the same six nights turns it into a bus tour where you see the inside of a car. We will push back on over-packed routes on the call — it is the single most common thing we fix.

If you want photographs and scale, yes — it is one of the great spectacles in the country. If you want quiet heritage travel, deliberately avoid it: the town's population multiplies, accommodation goes to tented camps at inflated rates, and the surrounding roads clog. We flag both sides when you pick a November window.

For one or two nights of the trip, yes — a converted haveli in Jodhpur or a lake-facing property in Udaipur is a genuine memory. For all six nights it is a lot of money for diminishing returns. We usually mix two heritage nights with four good four-star nights and put the saving into a better car and guide.
