Why go now

Baku is uncomfortably hot and windy in high summer and cold and grey by December. September through November is the balance point — twenty-something days, low rain, and the Caucasus foothills at Gabala and Sheki turning colour. It has also become the easiest European-feeling destination for an Indian passport: the ASAN e-visa arrives in three working days and there are direct flights.

Know before you go

  • 1The ASAN e-visa is applied online and issued in three working days. It is single-entry and valid for 30 days.
  • 2Baku is compact and walkable but the sights outside it — Gobustan, Gabala, Sheki — need a car. Sheki is a four-hour drive and worth an overnight.
  • 3Azerbaijan does not admit travellers with an Armenian entry stamp or those who have visited Nagorno-Karabakh. Worth knowing if your passport has one.

Visa for Indian passports

ASAN e-visa applied fully online, issued in 3 working days. Single entry, 30 days. No embassy visit, no biometrics.

Questions

Azerbaijan — Frequently asked

If yours is not here, call or WhatsApp us — the desk answers, not a bot.

Two nights covers Baku itself comfortably. To justify the flight you want four or five, adding Gobustan as a day trip and Sheki or Gabala as an overnight. A pure Baku city break of three nights is a fine long weekend but you will feel you left something unseen.

Surprisingly, yes. Baku's Old City and Caspian boulevard are romantic, the food is excellent, hotels are good value, and it is uncrowded compared with the usual honeymoon lists. Couples who want somewhere European-feeling that nobody they know has been to tend to love it.

Very. The ASAN system is automated and approvals for Indian passports with a clean travel history are routine. We file it for you and hold the departure until it is in hand — you are never asked to pay a balance before the visa is confirmed.
